Reflection of Unit 1

   In unit one, I have learn about the Culture Shock. Culture Shock is that feeling of disorientation many people feel when experiencing an entirely new way of life. Some people might feel confused, unsure and uncomfortable in the new country. Also people may have different values and new ways of doing things that seem strange to you. After I have learned about the Culture Shock, I know that this is a very common phenomenon between all of us, although we don’t like something we can’t accept, but we still need respect to different type of culture, because that’s what we have learn. My Aha moment was when Gitte explain about the ‘’ethnocentrism’’, hopefully Gitte doesn’t use many difficult words to explain it and give many example to us to show the meaning of ‘’ethnocentrism’’. I didn’t expect that many people have ‘’ethnocentrism’’, I know that when we are learning different kind of culture, we will start to compare with our culture, but that will stop us to learning culture...

        Hi, everyone. I am come from Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a international city.  Here are some example and photos to show the different. Language                In Hong Kong we have two official languages that is Chinese and English. During the British colonial era, English was the official language until many people who are come from China Canton Province, Cantonese became our second official language. Maybe you will interest where is the different between Hong Kong and China’s language. In Hong Kong, people are using Traditional Chinese, but in China, people are using Simplified Chinese.
